Mount Hagen Secondary school is located in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, in the Western Highlands Province. The school is approximately 3 km from the centre of town, alongside the famous Highlands Highway (Okuk Highway) at an altitude of 1700m.

The school is a state school originally established in 1963. The school serves the local and extended community providing space for around 1700 students, supported by 52 academic / teaching staff and 15 ancillary staff.
